England’s men’s cricket team is set to tour Netherlands next year for a three-match ODI series. The Dutch side was scheduled to host the Three Lions in May earlier this year. However, the tour was postponed all thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the three-match series is set to take place in June 2022 with all the matches taking place at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen.
Notably, the matches will form part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Hence, stakes are quite significant in the series. With England being the defending ODI World Cup champions, they are definite favourites for this series. Moreover, they are arguably the strongest white-ball teams going around with big guns like Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, and Joe Root in ranks.
However, with the cricket calendar being busy and quarantine protocols enforced, it remains to be seen how England’s ODI squad will look like against Netherlands. It has to be noted that these two sides have locked horns in three ODIs so far and England emerged victorious every time. However, the story is entirely different as far as the shortest international format.
England Men will play the Netherlands in three one-day internationals in Amstelveen next June.

Netherlands defeated England twice in World Cup events
Two of England’s most humiliating defeats in ICC events have come against Netherlands. The Dutch side defeated the Brits twice in ICC T20 World Cups – 2009 and 2014 respectively. However, the home team will need to put up a substantial effort to upset the English team once again. Notably, Netherlands have only been playing with associate teams for a while. Their last assignment was against Ireland which went decently for them. Winning two of the three games, the Dutch won the ODI series 2-1.
However, the English team would possess a much daunting total. Hence, the Men in Orange must be at their A-game especially with World Cup Super League points at stakes. As far as Eoin Morgan’s men are concerned, they are currently gearing up for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 which will take place in UAE and Oman.
