After starting their campaign in the UAE with a win, Kolkata Knight Riders will face a huge challenge against the defending champions, Mumbai Indians. This will be a crucial match for Mumbai as well; having started the tournament with a loss, they would want to quickly get some points to be in the race for the playoffs, while KKR themselves have a risk of falling at risk. Meanwhile, for fans, it is a great opportunity to get some fantasy points.

Here are 3 players who you can avoid in your fantasy teams for the match between MI and KKR:

1. Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock has been in good form with the bat coming into this season, but he didn’t manage to get off to a good start. It should be noted de Kock is the kind of player who likes a bit of pace on the ball. This is why he was struggling during the Chennai leg of the IPL 2021 first phase. At Abu Dhabi, the wicket could be a bit slow and de Kock will be facing spinners early on. Being a left-handed batter, he could be troubled by Sunil Narine or even Varun Chakravarthy, who has variations that are equally effective to left-handed batters.

2. Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh Iyer played a superb knock during his IPL debut. It also helped him to get some tips from Indian captain Virat Kohli. But when he faces Mumbai Indians, it would be only his second game in the cash-rich league. Now, there is no doubt that he looks a promising young talent, but Mumbai Indians’ new ball attack is world-class, to say the least. Against Trent Boult, Adam Milne, and Jasprit Bumrah, Iyer might find his toughest challenge to the day. Looking at how consistent all of the three bowlers have been in recent times, one has to back them to succeed.

3. Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana had a slight up and down season in the 2021 IPL. In the first phase, he started with some good scores but failed to continue his good run. After scoring a few fifties for KKR, his form slipped. It slipped to a point where he was unable to give them good starts. But, Rana’s T20 numbers suggest that he is highly successful when he plays in the top three, ideally opening the innings. But, considering how his form has shaped up, it is unlikely that he will play too much or even get a good score against a quality attack of Mumbai.
