Delhi Capitals sealed their place in the top two with a thrilling win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday (October 4). Shimron Hetmyer kept his cool to takes DC over the line when things looked tough at one stage on a slow pitch. No wonder each of the players was delighted after the victory and it was visible in their celebrations later in the dressing room.

The official Twitter handle of Delhi Capitals gave a sneak-peek into the dressing room of the team as the players were seen enjoying the victory over CSK. There were brimming smiles on the faces of the cricketers after beating one of the top teams in the IPL this season.

Among all, Ripal Patel imitating Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siiiiuu’ celebration hogged the limelight. In the video, he could be seen performing the same Ronaldo-like celebration after the victory. The popular Football player’s icnoic ‘Siiiiuu’ celebration after scoring the goal is famous across the world.

Here’s the video:

A decent debut for Ripal Patel

Meanwhile, it was a memorable day for Ripal Patel personally as well. He made his debut in the Indian Premier League and also got a chance to bat in the middle order. Having already qualified for the playoffs, the Capitals decided to bench Steve Smith and included Ripal in the playing XI going only with three overseas players, not for the first time this season.

Ripal came out to bat at five with the team’s score reading 71/3 and stitched a useful 22-run stand with Shikhar Dhawan. Interestingly, the debutant dominated the partnership scoring 18 runs out of it and showed promise before getting out to Ravindra Jadeja in the 13th over. Ripal played well especially against spinners showing his class with deft touches and placement of the ball in order to rotate the strike.

However, he will be gutted not to have finished the game for his team on the day. With the Capitals yet to play one more league game, Ripal will be hoping for another chance to show his potential with the bat.
