Fans must gear up for some exciting contests with the high-voltage Abu Dhabi T10 League is underway. It’s the fifth edition of the exciting tournament which seems many stalwarts of the game in action. As many as six teams are in hunt of the elusive title namely Team Abu Dhabi, Chennai Braves, Bangla Tigers, Deccan Gladiators, Northern Warriors, and Delhi Bulls.
With the past four editions of the competition witness some madness over the 22 yards, lovers had their calendars marked before the competition. After all, numerous prominent players from different quarters are plying their trade. Swashbucklers like Nicholas Pooran and Faf du Plessis are known to unleash mayhem with the bat.
At the same, Dwayne Bravo and Adil Rashid have been nightmares for batters in this format. Owing to all these factors, the Abu Dhabi T10 League has gained massive popularity over the years. With an innings comprising just 10 overs, there’s no time for either teams to relax down.
While batters have the onus to score as many runs as possible in this period, bowlers are asked to choke the scoring rate. As far as the format is concerned, the Round-Robin format is followed which would see all teams playing each other once in the league stage.
The group-stage games are followed by the playoffs which comprises two Qualifiers and an Eliminator. The finalists are subsequently selected to battle it out in the summit clash. Notably, teams are awarded two points for a win and nothing for a defeat. The points are divided in case the game is abandoned. If two sides are tied at same number of point, the team with better net run rate gets the higher rank.
