Indian skipper Virat Kohli is one of the finest players to have graced the game and his records across formats are nothing short of jaw-dropping. Owing to the same, social media pages of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are flooded with posts highlighting his achievements and milestones. On Wednesday (November 3), however, BCCI women mentioned ‘Anushka Sharma’s’ score in a tweet and netizens went bewildered.

As Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is Kohli’s wife, Twitterati went in a frenzy thinking why BCCI posted her score as she isn’t even a professional cricketer. The same started a meme fest on social media.  “Anushka Sharma 52 runs in 88 balls (5×4, 1×6) India B 140/0 #U19ChallengerTrophy,” read the post.

Notably, this is not the first time when Kohli’s wife hogged the limelight due to a cricket-related matter. Last year, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress slammed Indian batting Legend Sunil Gavaskar for mentioning her while commentating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Taking to her Instagram story, Anushka made a long post, urging Gavaskar to not drag her while analyzing Kohli’s performance.

“Mr Gavaskar, your message is distasteful is a fact but I would love for you to explain why you thought of making such a sweeping statement on a wife accusing her of her husband’s game? I’m sure over the years you have respected the private lives of every cricketer while commenting on the game. Don’t you think you should have an equal amount of respect for me and us?” she wrote in the long post.

“I’m sure you can have many other words and sentences in your mind to use to comment on my husband’s performance from last night or your words only relevant if you use my name in the process? It’s 2020 and things still dont change for me. When will I stop getting dragged into cricket and stop being used to pass sweeping statements?” she had added.

Meanwhile, let’s look at how netizens reacted to BCCI’s post:
