Team India left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has given credit to national team head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma for his excellent performance in T20Is against West Indies. Arshdeep emphasized the fact that both captain and coach have provided him with role clarity.
Arshdeep made his T20I debut against England recently and impressed everyone. As a result, he was also named in the Indian squad against West Indies for the white-ball matches. The left-arm pacer did not get a chance to play in the ODI fixtures, but he impressed in the five-match T20I series and was also adjudged Player of the Series.
I feel really grateful to represent my country: Arshdeep Singh
“The talk is to be adaptable. We have to do whatever the demand of the wicket and the team is. We do what the captain and coaches tell us. Credit to them for the clarity they have given me. It feels really good and feel grateful to represent my country. Tried to keep things simple. As Rahul Dravid sir says we are a process-based team so I stick with my process. I don’t try to think much about other things during the bowling,” Arshdeep was quoted by News18.
“I don’t know what my greatest asset is but keeping things simple and focusing on the process helps me. The way the captains back the youngsters, and the feel of the dressing room is very nice. Youngsters and seniors feel the same. Helps as a youngster to come in and repeat what you do with your IPL and state teams,” he added.
After his excellent performance in the Caribbean, the left-arm pacer will be eyeing a spot in the Indian team for the upcoming 2022 T20 Asia Cup in August-September, and then make his place in the Men in Blue squad for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
