After contesting in a dead rubber on Friday, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are set to lock horns yet again this time in the mega and grand final of the Asia Cup 2022 on a Super Sunday, September 11 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The Lankan Lions registered their fourth successive victory of the tournament when they defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the last match of the Super 4 round at the same venue.

Speaking about the form of both the sides heading into the summit clash, the Lankan Lions started off the competition with a humiliating loss to Afghanistan by eight wickets. The Island nation then made a solid comeback to register four wins on the trot. They have won all four encounters while chasing the targets and their balanced team led by Dasun Shanaka looks ready for one final challenge.

On the other hand, Pakistan also began their campaign with a loss to India but the Men in Green then went on to seal victories in three consecutive games before losing the one to Sri Lanka. The second most successful team in the history of the Asia Cup, five-time champions Sri Lanka will look to go for the sixth title, while two-time champions Pakistan would hope to take revenge for 2014 final when they got defeated by the same opponents Sri Lanka in Mirpur.
