Preview
India and Pakistan will meet each other for the second time in the Asia Cup 2022, this time in the Super 4 stage of the tournament. Both teams have some quality match-winners in their lineup and it was the Men in Blue who prevailed in the previous encounter.
However, Pakistan are coming off a thumping win against Hong Kong and will be riding high on confidence. The bowling department managed to get the opposition all out for just 38 while there was a lot more destructive hitting towards the end from the Pakistan batters. Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan's batting contributions ensured a big total was posted.
On the other hand, India do not have much to think about and they have been clinical in both their victories. The only worry would be KL Rahul's approach at the top of the order, however, he has the goods to deliver in the format. Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan will need to step up after their poor outing against Hong Kong.
Pitch and Conditions
The Dubai pitch has not been easy to bat and the fast bowlers have found a bit of success with the extra bounce. The skipper winning the toss will be looking to bowl first and take advantage of the conditions.
Playing Combinations for IND vs PAK
India
India has one forced change to make in the playing XI with the injury to Ravindra Jadeja. Hardik Pandya is expected to return to the playing XI in place of Rishabh Pant, while Axar Patel might be a straight swap for Jadeja. The rest of the side pick themselves and all eyes will be on the young fast bowlers from the Indian side.
Predicted Playing XI
Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh
Pakistan
Pakistan went with an unchanged side in their previous game against Hong Kong and the concerns over Naseem Shah's fitness were solved as he looked in great ryhtym. Khushdil Shah made a handy contribution down the order, however, Babar Azam is yet to set the stage on fire. Mohammad Nawaz will have a big role to play as he needs to complete his full quota with the lack of quality all-round options.
Predicted Playing XI
Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Shahnawaz Dahani
