Pakistan pace bowling sensation Naseem Shah hit the winning runs against Afghanistan in the Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2022 with back-to-back sixes and sealed his side's spot in the final. He has now decided to put the bat he used in the game on auction and use the money generated to aid the flood victims in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) posted a video on social media where his fellow pacer, Mohammad Hasnain, gifts the bat to Naseem, who announced that he would put the bat in the auction. Naseem hit two sixes in the final over when the Men in Green needed 11 off six balls with only one wicket in hand and snatched the win for his side from the jaws of defeat. And with the win, Pakistan also knocked out Afghanistan and India from the tournament.

Left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi, who bowled the last over, missed his length in the first two balls as he could not nail the yorkers and consequently bowled full-tosses. And the number ten Pakistan batter was too good not to dispatch them out of the ground.

Pakistan to face Sri Lanka in Asia Cup final

Earlier in the game, Pakistan had restricted the Afghanis to only 129 in 20 overs, courtesy of some top-class bowling by Naseem and others. He finished with one wicket for 19 runs in four overs. It was well complemented by pacer Pacer Haris Rauf, who picked up two wickets for 26 runs in four overs. Pakistan, during their chase, did not get an ideal start, as they lost their skipper Babar Azam only in the second ball of the innings for a duck.

Babar’s deputy Shadab Khan was the top scorer with a crucial 36 runs off 26 balls. But with Pakistan losing wickets in regular intervals, it went right down to the wire and was left for the number ten and eleven batters to finish off the job. And it was the number ten batter who stepped up with a cameo of 14 runs off four balls to wrap up the game with for balls to spare. The next in store for Pakistan is a Super 4 game against Sri Lanka, who they will face again on September 11, Sunday, for the final.
