Pakistan’s T20I series against England has been a rollercoaster for the Men in Green, as after every setback, they have bounced back stronger which has helped them to level the series at 2-2. But ahead of the fifth T20I of the seven-match series, Pakistan received a major blow as their pace sensation Naseem Shah was ruled out after being hospitalized.

A spokesperson for the Pakistan Cricket Board reportedly told the Pakistani media that Shah was brought to the hospital on Tuesday, September 27, as he had a high fever. The high fever was a result of a chest infection, due to which he was ruled out of the fifth game. After undergoing several tests, Naseem Shah is said to be doing well now.

As per a report by India TV, it was clarified, though, that Shah's involvement in the remaining games would depend on the outcomes of the medical examinations. Naseem Shah participated in the first game against England before being rested for the following three contests. Shah failed to take a wicket in the opening game and conceded 41 runs in his spell.

The young pacer is an essential player for Pakistan and is also a part of the 2022 T20 World Cup squad. He made his debut during the Asia Cup 2022 and picked up seven wickets in five games for his team, contributing well to Pakistan's journey to the finale. During the Super 4 stage, his two humungous sixes against Afghanistan, which led to the team's victory in a thrilling encounter, made him the most talked-about player.

Pakistan and England fight a long battle for a series win

Speaking of the ongoing England tour of Pakistan, the two teams have played four games so far, and the series is leveled at 2-2. After England won the first game, the hosts bounced back to win the second game and level the series. England took a lead by winning the third T20I but Pakistan did not let the visitor’s celebrations last longer as they went on to win the fourth game. With three more games to go, the series has become even more interesting.
