When I look at KL Rahul's body language, it feels he can't do anything: RP Singh

Team India will take on Pakistan in their first match of the Super 4 in the 2022 Asia Cup. The match will be played at the Dubai International Stadium on September 4 (Sunday) as both teams will be looking to win the match and move ahead in the competition.

Meanwhile, former Indian pacer RP Singh has opined that one of the batters including KL Rahul or Dinesh Karthik should be rested from the Indian playing XI so that the wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant can be included in the squad.

In the previous game, DK did not keep the wickets which left me a little confused: RP Singh

“One of DK (Dinesh Karthik) and KL Rahul needs to be rested and Pant needs to be in the XI. Pant deserves to play. He is a match-winner, and if he performs, he can take India home,” RP Singh said during an interaction on India TV.

“In the previous game, DK didn't keep which left me a little confused. Because he kept the wickets in the first game and so he is your first-choice,” he added

When asked about between Rahul and Karthik, the former Indian pacer said that KL Rahul's body language doesn't inspire much confidence.

“I feel KL Rahul isn't showing much promise. When I look at his body language, it feels like he can't do anything. He needs more time. Since coming from injury, his timings and reading of match situations are a little concerning,” he said.

Talking about KL Rahul, the right-handed batter could not get going in the first match against Pakistan as he was cleaned up by the express pacer Naseem Shah. The right-handed batter scored 36 runs against Hong Kong but it came in 39 balls. If retained in the squad, Rahul will want to make a solid statement with his bat and look to give a match-winning effort for the Men in Blue.
