Temba Bavuma’s South Africa couldn't capitalize on the the comfortable position they were placed in to qualify for the semi-finals as they embarrassingly lost the fixture against the Netherlands. The Dutch side handed an upset to the Proteas, to make it one of the most memorable encounters for themselves in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
In the midst of the exciting affair between the sides, one of the spectators present at the Adelaide oval garnered attention with his one-handed catch. The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video of the catch deeming it as the contenders for ‘catch of the tournament’.

In the video shared by ICC, Colin Ackermann dispatched Wayne Parnell’s half-volley for a cracking six into the stands. However, the ball was ‘effortlessly’ caught by one of the spectators present who plucked the ball with just one hand earning the praises from the commentator and fellow spectators present at the Adelaide Oval.
Pakistan takes final spot for the semi-finals
New Zealand, England and team India have officially made it to the last four of the marquee event down under. However, the Dutch side with their rather impressive performance, handed an ‘upset’ to the Proteas who came into this match as the favourites.
Combined team effort from the Netherlands put South Africa on the backfoot and further opened up the chances for either Pakistan or Bangladesh in semis. The Dutch side winning made the Pakistan-Bangladesh fixture a virtual knockout.
However, Pakistan while playing against Bangladesh, chased down 127 runs with ease to grab the final semi-final spot in T20 World Cup 2022 race. As things stand now, India are playing their final group fixture against Zimbabwe while aiming to finish as table toppers from Group 2.
