England have named a 14-member squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa which will be played in January 2023. While Jos Buttler will be leading the Englishmen, star pacer Jofra Archer would be returning to action for the first time since March 2021. Archer, who has missed a lot of action owing to his elbow injury, is recovering well and will most likely take the field in South Africa.
It has been reported that Reece Topley is well on road to recovery from his left ankle injury and is expected to be fit for the 50 over games. Harry Brook, who has been impressive for England lately, has received his maiden call-up in ODIs. In another significant development, Ben Duckett has returned to the ODI set-up after six years. The first match of the series would be played on January 27 in Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein.
England ODI squad: Jos Buttler (captain), Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Phil Salt, Olly Stone, Reece Topley, David Willey, Chris Woakes
