England's Nat Sciver takes home the prestigious Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year after a remarkable year with the national team. This was her second accolade of the day, as she had also bagged the Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year award earlier today.

The star English all-rounder thwarted competition from India’s Smriti Mandhana, New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr, and Australia’s Beth Mooney to win the award. It was stiff competition among the nominees as all four of them featured in ICC's ODI team of the year. Sciver was quite influential for her national team with her all-round exploits in the field. She acknowledged her victory, reminiscing some of the most memorable moments of the year.

“I’ve been really happy with my form this year. It’s weird to think that the World Cup was this year too. The two centuries in the World Cup were really special, and the Test match innings against South Africa was brilliant too. As cricketers we are perfectionists and often remember the negative things that have happened so it’s hard to remember all the good things but there have been some great memories and highlights,” Sciver said after picking up the award for her 2022 performances.

The 30-year-old led the charge for her side for the majority of the year and was in staggering form during the 50-over World Cup in 2022. She was the third-leading run-scorer of the tournament and even compiled a magnificent 148* from just 121 balls in the final only to end up on the losing side against the mighty Aussies.

She amassed 1346 runs and bagged 22 wickets from 33 international matches, across all formats. She becomes only the third England player to win the honor after Charlotte Edwards in 2008 and Claire Taylor in 200.
