Punjab Kings (PBKS) are likely to receive a significant boost in their batting department as they prepare to face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Mohali in the IPL 2023. They have hinted at the availability of England all-rounder Liam Livingstone ahead of the clash. Notably, the Shikhar Dhawan-led team will face RCB at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Chandigarh on Thursday, April 20.
Due to fitness concerns, Livingstone has missed PBKS' first five IPL matches in the ongoing season. The 29-year-old last played a Test against Pakistan in December 2022 and has not played any competitive cricket since then.
However, PBKS on Thursday dropped a major hint on Livingstone's availability for the clash against RCB on Instagram. The post featured Livingstone and RCB star Glenn Maxwell, commonly known as 'The Big Show.'
‘There’s a new Big Show in Mohali’ PBKS captioned their post.

PBKS stands fifth in IPL 2023 points table with a negative NRR
Liam Livingstone arrived in India earlier this month after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had given him a fitness clearance certificate. He was recuperating from knee and ankle injuries suffered in December. He subsequently strained a muscle during his first PBKS training session, further delaying his return.
Notably, injuries have plagued PBKS this IPL season. Jonny Bairstow, an English cricketer, was ruled out for the entire season prior to the start of the IPL 2023, and Matthew Short was brought in as his replacement. Meanwhile, PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan, who missed the last match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), due to a shoulder injury, might join the side during the match against RCB. In Dhawan's absence, England all-rounder Sam Curran took over captaincy duties. In the ongoing IPL, PBKS has now won three of their five matches. With six points, Punjab is currently fifth on the IPL 2023 points table.
