After their loss in the T20I series against the West Indies, Team India shift their focus to their next assignment, which is their three-match T20I series against Ireland. It is worth noting that Ireland take on India in the first T20I on Friday, August 18, at the Malahide Cricket Club, in Ireland. The third and final T20I of the series will be played on Wednesday, August 23.

One of the most interesting aspects of the series could be the much-anticipated return of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was announced as the skipper for the upcoming series. Ahead of the series, the Indian team finally departed for Ireland.

Taking to their social media handles, the official account of the Indian cricket team posted a picture of the players as they geared up to travel to Ireland. The picture featured Indian players Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prasidh Krishna, and Jasprit Bumrah.

"Ireland, here we come," the Indian cricket team captioned their post.

Team India look to reciprocate following West Indies loss

The Indian team will be coming into the series against Ireland on the back of a hefty loss in the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. Speaking of the series, India got off to a horrid start as they lost the first two T20Is. However, the Hardik Pandya-led side clawed their way back into the series by winning the third and fourth games.

With the series level going into the final match, it was all to play for in the series decider. However, through a brilliant performance with the bat and the ball, the Windies managed to defeat team India and clinch the five-match series.

Having recently lost the matches, India will be low on confidence. However, with the amount of talent that the team possesses, they will be keen on heavily improving their performances. Furthermore, with the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023 looming around the corner, a good result could go a long way for India in their preparations for the marquee event.
