Kagiso Rabada has also played in seven seasons in the Indian Premier League and for two different teams. The current Punjab Kings player is currently in India and is set to feature in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, which begins on October 5. During his experiences of playing in India, in the IPL, and also for the South African team on the tours, the 28-year-old must have picked up some of the more common Hindi words. However, in a recent reel, he managed to take Indian cricket fans on a surprise trip by showing off his commendable Hindi-speaking skills.
The viral reel sees Rabada talking to a couple of South Bombay locals in Hindi and showing them his knowledge of travelling in local trains. When the boys tried to introduce him to the Mumbai culture, the Johannesburg-born left them stunned.
"Beta, papa ko mat sikhao! (Boys, don't try to teach your father!)," Rabada said for a hilarious comeback reply to the two Mumbai guys in the reel.
Rabada will be the key for South Africa in ODI World Cup 2023
Kagiso Rabada is one of the finest pacers in modern-day cricket. Since making his international debut in 2014, the right-arm seamer has gone on to become one of the indispensable members of the South Africa side in all three formats of the game. He is a former No. 1-ranked bowler in Tests and ODIs, as per the ICC rankings.
The experienced seamer was amongst the wickets in South Africa's recent five-match ODI series at home against Australia. Rabada played just three games but picked up seven wickets at an average of 24, on pitches that were not conducive for the bowlers.
The first warm-up match for the Proteas, against Afghanistan, was abandoned due to rain. In their last warm-up match, South Africa lost to New Zealand by seven runs by DLS method. Temba Bavuma and Co. will begin their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign on Saturday, September 7, with a match against former world champions Sri Lanka.
