Team India’s World Cup 2023 campaign has been near flawless, with excellent performances in every game that the side has competed in so far. The hosts look determined to get their hands on the coveted title.
However, it seems like the side has hit a major setback as skipper Rohit Sharma presented the team with an injury scare. Taking on New Zealand in game 21 of the tournament, India opted to bowl first, and disaster potentially struck in the 10th over of the first innings as skipper Rohit Sharma had to walk out of the field.
As Mohammed Siraj bowled the final delivery of the 10th over, Daryl Mitchell drove it onto mid-off. However, in an attempt to stop the ball, Rohit dived and potentially injured himself. With an update yet to arrive on the situation, the game continued with KL Rahul as the stand-in skipper.
