Former South Africa and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter AB de Villiers announced on Twitter on November 3 (Thursday) that he has checked into the Bengaluru hotel where he used to stay with the IPL franchise RCB during his Indian Premier League playing days.
His tweet has made fans curious about his return to the team again. De Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, including IPL, after the 2020 edition.
However, he is likely to join the franchise in some capacity or the other. Before de Villiers' arrival, RCB had informed fans that someone who said he will back in RCB has arrived in Bengaluru. De Villiers' tweet came right after RCB's update.
So many great memories flowing back: De Villiers wrote on Twitter

He once said he’ll be back in RCB.

Surprise surprise!
He’s home, he’s in Bengaluru today. Guess who? 🤔#PlayBold #WeAreChallengers
"He once said he'll be back in RCB. Surprise surprise! He's home, he's in Bengaluru today. Guess who?," wrote RCB on their Twitter account.
It should be noted that IPL 2022 was the first time in several years that AB de Villiers did not feature for the Red Army as he had announced his retirement last year. Over the past years, De Villiers remained a vital player for RCB and he was also included in RCB's Hall of Fame earlier this year.
